NATURE EXERCISE
1. The reference to Nature in this paragraph could mean the world of existence in its entirety, or it could refer to Nature in the classic sense of the living world around us. Share you thoughts on this with the group, or write a brief explanation of your choice.
2. "Its [Nature's] manifestations are diversified by varying causes, and in this diversity there are signs for men of discernment."
A. What might we discern from multicoloured flowers in a meadow?
B. What might we discern from the great variety of trees, plants and creatures in a forest?
C. What might we discern from a brook winding through a forest?
D. Write a short poem in the voice of the brook.
3. Baha'u'llah states that nature is "the will of God." Explore in your group how this view might differ from the view of science today, or prepare a short address explaining this difference in views.
4. Challenge Question: "Nature is God’s Will and is its expression in and through the contingent world." Discuss as a group the phrase, "in and through the contingent world." Why "in" and "through"?
